Fatalism

Fatalism is the belief that all events in the world and human destiny are predetermined, and it is impossible to alter them through any actions. Stemming from the Latin word «fatum» (fate, destiny), this perspective compels people to perceive all good and evil in life as an immutable law of existence. Kazakh proverbs such as «mañdaığa jazğanı boladı» (what is written on the forehead will happen) or «jazmıştan ozmış joq» (there is no escaping fate) reflect this understanding; however, excessive fatalism can diminish a person’s sense of personal responsibility for their own life.
