Events aimed at improving the legal and religious literacy of residents were held in the city of Esik and the village of Baiterek

In modern society, the issues of improving citizens’ legal literacy, maintaining stability, and protecting the population from various destructive movements are of particular importance. Cultivating a culture of security requires special attention, primarily among self-employed market workers and unemployed citizens who are absorbed in their daily concerns. In this regard, on June 23, targeted awareness-raising work was carried out with various target groups in the village of Baiterek and the city of Esik.

Meaningful meetings with self-employed and unemployed citizens took place at the «Tumar» market and the «Unemployed Square» in Baiterek, as well as at the «Tokzhan,» «Avtozapchasti,» and «Zulya» markets in Esik. During these discussions, Yelnar Berikbayev, Head of the Strategic Analysis Department at the Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies (KazISS) under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and a religious scholar, thoroughly explained to the participants the ways to improve legal literacy and prevent involvement in radical ideology. Drawing on current social realities, the scholar used clear and specific examples to demonstrate how alien movements influence human consciousness and how to protect oneself from them.

Another important focus of the meetings was religious literacy and interethnic harmony. A meeting with female believers was held at the «Ratbek Kazhy» charitable institution in Esik, where ways to protect against destructive religious influence were discussed. Meanwhile, at the T. Moldagaliev House of Culture, representatives of various ethnic groups gathered for an in-depth exchange of views on interethnic harmony, tolerance, and extremism prevention. It was emphasized that strengthening cohesion among ethnic groups serves as a reliable shield against any negative external influence.

Event participants shared their impressions: “In the hustle and bustle of working life, we do not always attach importance to many legal issues or the information threats around us. At today’s meeting, we received a wealth of useful information from qualified specialists and religious scholars. We realized particularly clearly how vital it is to protect ourselves from movements with malicious intent, to know our rights within the framework of the law, and to correctly convey this to our families. This is essential for our common security.”

Such significant events, aimed at implementing state policy in the sphere of religion and public harmony, will continue throughout the current year and will cover all target groups.
