In modern society, maintaining stability and protecting the population from the influence of various destructive religious movements remains a pressing issue. To counteract the false ideologies spreading in the information space and daily life, religious literacy is essential for every citizen, regardless of their profession. In this regard, special explanatory work was carried out with residents and representatives of various social groups across several settlements in the Ili district.
At various venues—including trading markets, a taxi stand, a house of culture, public institutions, and a mosque in the villages of Ali, Baiserke, Otegen Batyr, and Boraldai—historian and IRG (Information and Explanatory Group) member Azamat Yeselbayev spoke about ways to improve religious literacy and prevent the spread of destructive movements. The historian discussed the current religious situation in society and used concrete examples to explain how alien movements manipulate people’s minds, particularly targeting self-employed citizens and ordinary workers.
One of the main topics of the meetings was building ideological immunity in public places and work collectives. It is no secret that destructive movements often spread their ideas in everyday life, at bazaars, and in crowded places. Therefore, it was emphasized that the informational security of unemployed citizens, taxi drivers, cultural workers, and socially vulnerable groups must be a top priority. The audience learned that proper religious understanding and adherence to traditional values can serve as a reliable shield against any negative external influence.
Event participants shared their takeaways: «Nowadays, it is sometimes difficult to distinguish who is preaching what and what they are calling for. We realized that we shouldn’t blindly trust the dubious information we encounter at markets or on the Internet. To protect ourselves and our families from alien movements, we must rely solely on official religious sources and stay away from radical groups.»
Similar events aimed at implementing state policy in the religious sphere will continue throughout the current year and will cover all target groups of the population.
