On June 30 of this year, members of the Club of Leaders of Religious Associations of the Almaty Region enjoyed a friendly walk in the Alma-Arasan gorge, located within the Ile-Alatau State National Nature Park. This regular cultural and educational event, which has become a traditional meeting format for the Club members, brought together leaders and parishioners of Islamic, Orthodox, Catholic, Pentecostal, Baptist, Lutheran, and Hare Krishna associations, allowing them to collectively enjoy the beauty of the local nature.
Despite a sudden change in the weather, the participants spent their time in high spirits and an atmosphere of sincere friendliness.
After the walk, the Club members gathered around a shared dastarkhan (traditional dining table), exchanging views on the importance of preserving interreligious peace. The leaders of the confessions particularly emphasized that they will continue to explain the enduring value and high significance of interfaith harmony to their communities.
Through their own example, the Club participants once again demonstrated that a diversity of religious views is not an obstacle to constructive friendship and deep mutual respect.
