Polytheism is a system of belief in multiple deities, implying the worship of various gods and their pantheon. Originating from the Greek words «polys» (many) and «theos» (god), this concept presupposes the existence of distinct gods responsible for every phenomenon, whether it be war, love, or harvest. The beliefs of Ancient Greece or Egypt fall into this category; however, over time, the majority of humanity transitioned from this worldview to monotheism.
