In the era of rapid development in information technologies, the problem of protecting children’s consciousness from various negative movements is increasingly being raised in society. The massive flow of information disseminated through the internet and social networks requires media and spiritual literacy from both adults and children. In this regard, special awareness-raising meetings with women were held in the mosques of the city of Talgar and the village of Besagash.
Religious scholar Miras Konusbekuly spoke at the events organized in the «Rakhymbergen Kazhy» and «Belbulak» mosques in Talgar, as well as in the «Sharif» mosque in the village of Besagash. He explained the ways to improve religious literacy and methods of protection against the influence of destructive movements. Drawing on real-life situations, the lecturer used simple examples to demonstrate how alien ideologies affect human psychology, and the youth in particular.
One of the main topics of the meetings was child-rearing and children’s safety in the virtual space. It is no secret that destructive movements often promote their ideas specifically through the internet, actively utilizing platforms popular among teenagers. Therefore, special attention was given to the fact that parental control and proper family upbringing must be the priority. It was emphasized that a mother’s close bond with her child and her sincere attention to their inner world can become the most reliable shield against any negative external influence.
The participants of the meetings listened closely to the specialist and shared their conclusions: «When raising children, it is absolutely unacceptable to just hand them a phone so they won’t interfere and let things take their course. We are obliged to constantly monitor what they watch on the internet and what information they consume. And simply controlling them is not enough — we must guide the child in a timely manner, teach them to distinguish good from bad, and provide them with a proper upbringing ourselves.»
Similar information and awareness-raising events, aimed at implementing state policy in the field of religion and ensuring the spiritual security of society, will be conducted throughout the year and will cover various target audiences.
